The IP Alarm Receiver is a key part of the Terrier IP alarm signalling system, which is a secure closed network and a transport for alarm messages going to the monitoring centre’s automation system.
The receiver runs on a Linux server with a User Interface so that Monitoring Centre staff can view the status of connections, interrogate them and even send control messages to them. The receiver is responsible for monitoring all the connections and for raising alarms should any fail.
The System Overview
shows a hot-standby solution with two IP Alarm Receivers connected to the Automation. The hot-standby solution is designed to protect against a communications failure or system failure and provide an alternative receiver platform and network routing for continuous alarm monitoring.
The excellent User Interface (see image below) gives information about all your connections with access to remote controls
